ABC Awards & Recognition

ABC Western Pennsylvania Chapter

Be recognized for your accomplishments. ABC offers multiple awards and accreditation's for members to receive.

Accredited Quality Contractor

The AQC program is a holistic cultural assessment of a company based on the five core areas of responsibility: quality, safety, education, talent management and community relations. The program sets companies apart from other contractor firms and gains them visibility within the industry through national publications, such as Construction Executive magazine. Plus, AQC members can use the program marketing tools provided to promote their credential, such as customized letters of recommendation, news release templates, use of the logo on hardhats, jobsite signage and bid documents.

Beam Club

The Beam Club was established in 1966 to recognize ABC’s top membership recruiters for their commitment to growing the association. By recruiting five new members, ABC members are automatically enrolled in the Beam Club by their chapter. Members receive one point for each new member recruited. Beam Club activity is ongoing from year to year, with members’ point totals continually accruing and advancing members to the next Beam Club award level.

National Craft Championship

ABC’s annual National Craft Championships celebrate lifelong learning in the merit shop construction industry. Craft trainees from chapter and member training programs across the country compete for national recognition in 13 crafts in an intense event during the ABC Convention.

ABC’s Top Performers lists recognize ABC member contractors’ achievements in safety, quality, diversity and project excellence ranked by work hours, with special designations identified.

STEP Safety Management System

Established in 1989, ABC’s STEP program was developed and written by contractors, for contractors, to establish safety as a core value. STEP offers an organized approach for analyzing and developing company-wide safety and loss prevention programs that can reduce recordable incidents by up to 85 percent.

Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Excellence Awards

The National Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Excellence Awards annually recognize ABC members that display exemplary IDE leadership in their workforce, supply chain and community with best-in-class recruitment policies, retention practices and education and mentoring programs. The winners are announced at the ABC Convention.
