HVAC Mechanic & Installer

As an HVAC Mechanic & Installer apprentice, you'll gain crucial skills in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. You'll learn to interpret blueprints, understand HVAC codes, and work with various HVAC components and tools. The program emphasizes safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols. You will also develop strong problem-solving and project management skills while upholding high standards of professionalism and ethics.

NCCER HVACR Curriculum

The HVAC Mechanic & Installer Apprenticeship is a thorough 4-year program that integrates hands-on experience with classroom instruction. It requires 173 hours of Related Technical Instruction (RTI), annually, and 8,000 total hours of On-the-Job Learning (OJL). The RTI follows the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) curriculum, allowing apprentices to earn industry-recognized, stackable credentials at each level. The program begins with CORE, an introductory module covering communication skills, employability, basic safety practices, and the use of tools, before progressing through HVAC Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4. Applications are due by July 1, 2025.
