Sheet Metal Worker

As a sheet metal worker apprentice, you'll acquire essential skills in fabricating, installing, and repairing sheet metal components. You'll learn to read blueprints, measure accurately, and work with various sheet metal tools and equipment. Safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), are a key focus. You'll also develop expertise in problem-solving, project planning, and maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

About the program

The Sheet Metal Worker Apprenticeship program is a detailed 4-year course that blends hands-on experience with classroom instruction. It involves 144 hours of Related Technical Instruction (RTI), annually, and 8,000 total hours of On-the-Job Learning (OJL). The RTI follows the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) curriculum, with apprentices earning industry-recognized, stackable credentials at each level. The program begins with CORE, an introductory module covering communication skills, employability, basic safety practices, and the use of tools, before progressing through Sheet Metal Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4. Applications are due by July 1, 2025.
