Safety is a core focus of the program, with training in proper procedures, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and strict adherence to industry safety protocols. Apprentices also build strong problem-solving and project coordination skills to support efficient and accurate work in the field.
In addition to technical training, the program emphasizes professionalism, effective communication, and maintaining high ethical standards on every jobsite.
About the program
The Sprinkler Fitting Apprenticeship Program is a comprehensive four-year training pathway that combines hands-on experience with structured classroom instruction. Apprentices complete 144 hours of Related Technical Instruction (RTI) each year, along with a total of 8,000 hours of On-the-Job Learning (OJL).
The RTI component follows the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) curriculum, enabling apprentices to earn industry-recognized, stackable credentials at each stage of the program. Training begins with CORE—an introductory module focused on communication skills, employability, basic safety practices, and the proper use of tools—before progressing through Sprinkler Fitting Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4.
